Although I understand that this is very difficult to do, you must use the popular published law school rankings skeptical. These rankings are not only implausible, but which are likely to mislead students think they need to attend a school or are highly rated second sentence, prosecutors are doing to their "substandard" "the right of school education. That is simply not true. What is true, in my opinion, unfortunately, that a highly rated law school have an enormous financial (Note: Not educational ) impact on your early legal career. That is why I wrote Covert Tactics for Getting Into the Law School of your choice. As I explain in this book, but even if you do not place high on a Law School, you are not necessarily doomed to suffer professionally and financially for the rest of your life. Often you well served, even educationally and financially by attending a lower rank Law School.

But back to law school rankings. In addition to a number of studies suggesting that the underlying data the ranking is inaccurate, because the schools are trying to wrong the actual data to a higher priority, it is impossible for a ranking on all relevant factors, which differ from individual to individual.

Also problematic is the fact that most of the ranking, at least in part, on the subjective views of individuals in the various schools. Of course, such subjective opinions are likely to simply reinforce the historic with respect to the "Top Tier" "Law Schools. The fact, if you look at these rankings historically, you will find that they are really not much changed in recent years.

The reason that it is important that you understand the invalidity of the law school rankings is that you should understand that the quality of legal education is likely to be nearly as good, and in some ways perhaps better, at the University of Idaho as opposed to Harvard.

Depending on who you are, you can much better, from a variety of reasons, including to a very low ranking school. This may be the case, even if you have the opportunity to attend a secondary school place.

For example, if your intention is to build a small town in rural South Dakota practice immediately after law school, it is not advisable, at Stanford Law School in the University of South Dakota School of Law.

Why? Let me three good reasons, but there are probably many more. Firstly, you are not a particularly highly paid in rural South Dakota, no matter where you at Law School. A graduate of Stanford Law you are probably either in the saddle with a high debt load or have spent a significant amount of savings through your school. Although some law schools are cheap, you should carefully consider whether it is worth spending and extra 100,000 U.S. dollars, a fancy name on your wall.

Second, as a small-town doctor, you become very dependent on relationships with other lawyers, the economy, and potential customers in general. Spending three years in Palo Alto, far away from the center of the future universe will be very little to develop those relationships, so law school rankings are virtually meaningless.

Finally, the education is not much better than at Stanford USD. Believe me, in this letter, I apologize for the inevitable barrage of criticism that inevitably threw my way. I say this with confidence because I know, lawyers from a variety of law schools and a relatively equal distribution of idiots among the graduates of the top 50 and bottom 50 schools. It really depends on what you are willing to in it - not what it is you.

There are even schools that are not right, by the American Bar Association, the worth, in a few cases. Depending on what you want, and the special laws of the jurisdiction where you intend to practice, a non-ABA accredited school can be a sensible choice.

At the end of the day, you need a wise choice that you like with for the rest of your life. Do not put a school on the list, just because it is a highly-square Law School fit or a formula, or because you think it's good on your application.

Even if we find a cure for cancer in the next ten years, you are unlikely to live much longer than 90 years on this earth. Not for 3.5% of them in the wrong place.
