divorce lawyers are women better or a disadvantage in the practice of family law?
The late singer, performer, icon, and soul, James Brown, coined the phrase: "This is a man of the world." In many aspects, women key to professional and social limitations caused by centuries of male dominated legal profession. Many women attorneys have success and longevity in the field of family law. People tend to forget that the divorce and family issues, in contrast to other legal questions, usually with a male-female conflict.
Some time ago in a conversation about hiring a divorce lawyer, a female acquaintance of mine, a recent divorce, mentioned that she prefers male lawyers. She explained that her lawyer, because they believe "he had a sense of arrogance and nonsense do not see." She continued to declare that in its opinion, the most female divorce lawyers do not have an aggressive instinct. In my eyes, I began to question how many people have a similar idea and images of women, divorce lawyers.
Here are two reasons why I believe that women practice family can have the advantage.
1) Nature - on average, women spend more time in discussion and thinking about issues of family and relationships than men. In other words, we know, family and relationships. It is in our DNA. Women, by nature, more interested in relationships and their outcomes than men. This represents a success in communicating and dealing with our family and divorce clients.
2) Aggression - female divorce lawyers have more of a "no prisoners" approach to family law. Some may think that because we have a chip on his shoulder, or we try to prove ourselves in a male-dominated profession. These assumptions are simply wrong. According to truth, women possess a strong desire to "right". Some of my most difficult challenges that women from conflicting advice. My husband, an administrator of the school, always prefer to meet in a battle between two men as opposed to two women. His reasoning is, "Women can be vicious fights."
I am sure that the false beliefs of my acquaintance are not uncommon. In the chorus of James Brown's song, "It's a Man's World", the singer draws listeners to the conclusion that this man in the world "would not be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl." What would the practice of family law are no female lawyers?
