How can logic games to do with the Law School?

Here is a typical question LAST Logic Games:

Nine Housewives - Alice, Barbara, Carol, Delores, Evelyn Francis, Gertrude, Hillary, and Ingrid - is shopping at Safeway this week. You can either shop on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Exactly three housewives Store on each of those days. The following conditions apply:

1. Barbara shop on Tuesday.

2. Carol and Francis have to shop on the same day.

3. Alice and Evelyn have to shop on the same day.

4. Gertrude and Hillary can not shop on the same day.

5. Barbara and Ingrid do not shop on the same day.

6. Carol and Ingrid do not shop on the same day.

When Alice shops on Tuesday, and Carol shops on Monday, which of the following must be true?

A. Gertrude operations on Monday.

Gertrude B. stores on Wednesday.

C. Hillary shops on Monday.

Delores D. shops on Wednesday.

Francis E. operations on Wednesday.

I'm not going to waste all our time to explain why, but the correct answer is D (Delores shops on Wednesday). I have neither the patience nor the know-how on how to reach this solution, but if you have Excel on Law School Admission Test (LAST), you better be able to answer to each question, as within 30 -40 seconds.

Well, I have no inside information, but the last is usually based on the abilities and skills that are considered crucial for success in the Law School (please note, not in the legal profession). The logic games section and in particular the future law student's ability, complicated factual scenarios, analyze arguments and to reach reliable conclusions - largely by eliminating weaker position.

I can testify that these skills are indeed important to your success in law studies. It is obvious, as the facts in question have nothing to do with law school or legal practice. The intellectual ability to deal with such situations, but not absolutely necessary.

The thing about Law School, and the Last, that the happiness for those of us who may be less than brilliant is that everything you need to know is in question. You do not need to know the quadratic equation, the elements in the periodic table, or other background information. You simply need the information you are to analyze and reach the best conclusion.
