In reading news from around the country, I note a growing concern about identity theft now, during my 76 years, the most important thing I learned is that there are many who are brighter than I have from my 18 years in the prison system, I have learned that the criminal sense, the high octane rating of 24 hours. per day. If there is any way to beat the system, and they lose, and it will.
With the surge in recent years in the position to receive SSN is open, the criminals have their ingenuity to create a new system, the same result. They have found that by snatching some of the mass e-mails that find their way into the mailboxes, they are able to reconstruct a profile of the recipient and may be pure guile enough personal information to the blanks.
Enter the world of mass e-mails. Each of us is a victim of merchandising rush. So how can we even be able to protect our identity and prevent further fraud from identity theft. I have noticed that the only real way to beat a system must be examined. Then, if we understand how the system works, we are able to make them to our advantage.
Have you ever wondered how your name as it was on some mailing list? It can be used as a shock to you, and I had to discover that not more than the mailing list was purchased by one of the three credit reporting agencies. Yes, the agency, which with so much history and personal information about me that my entire financial future depends on the accuracy of this information. Can I purchase a car at a decent price (or perhaps I should say, at a decent monthly payment) depends on the personal financial information. Then on the basis of this information, the life-long dreaded FICO calculated.
FICO years increased its ugly head, and mass e-mails were the "IN", which (obviously before a telemarketer interrupting our meal or favorite TV show ...), I decided a little fun. At the time I was during the day and at Law School at night. Tests were pending, and I needed a break from studying jurisprudence. Now, on notice that there is no one so versed in the law as a first semester law student.
Now see it on the corner of my desk sat a pile of unopened mail demanding my attention. As I cover each slit open and their contents, I was reviewed by the generosity of Mailer, who sent me a unique opportunity to win one million U.S. Dollar and enjoy the kind of life I really wanted to - with no work and no Law School exams. The chance of life, if only I would benefit from using a piece of paper and again in the closed post. What is a ... and I would not even for my own postage.
With all this talk of contests and fabulous prizes I could win if I just took the time to ensure implementation of the return postage sent. How could I even think of such a possibility. SHAZAMMMMMM. The idea was like a flash ..... I would like to emulate this generosity. It would be selfish of me to think differently. And so in this dark room, surrounded by law books and piles of bulk e-mails there was born Donald J. Sheehy MAILING BONANZA. I was on my own to promote competition and in a moment of weakness or madness, I would splurge and find a price due to competition. They know what they say not Get Mad - yet. ..... Couple that with a brash first semester law student torn between the image of the basking shark on the beach in some lonely island sipping tropical drinks served by scantily clad natives and the desolation of plowing through a textbook on contract law, in which the footnotes numerically the sides .. ....
Well, what can I say ... except that they are the breeding ground for ingenuity. So I collected all the e-mails and any postage prepaid envelope in my trash. I was on the drawing. The dreaded law books on the other corner of my desk and the picture of my mother look holy to me from the shelf would be the testimony to the impartiality of the drawing. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and spun around in my chair three times (is not that the way it's done ..?) And with fear drew a breath of envelopes from the trash. "And the winner .......," I have on my holy mother (inwardly I knew that they would be proud of me - not mothers usually proud of their sons to these historical moments), and Darn book on contract law whose open sides glared disapprovingly me. Well, what should I do ...???
Oh, damn, right up to the tests .... But wait a minute ..... I have a price - all of these items sitting at the corner of my desk along with the other postage prepaid envelopes in the trash. Ah ha I have a winner ... and .... I have a price. Well, the winner ... Should I call ...??? If I did I probably would have to pay for the call, and I did not spend a red cent on competition, that I do not have to.
Sitting at my typewriter I am disappointed by a congratulatory letter letter advising the winner, that the random selection in the capital, he was the winner in the said Donald J. Sheehy unpublished MAILING MANIA CONTEST, and we were overjoyed to give them their valuable and unique price . Then as a gesture of goodwill we had the right to transfer to the various competitions to them which we hoped they would be with you and win. Further we are waiving all rights and interests (such as that the legal language of a law student ...) In any prize they may win.
Then I took part in all this material together and stuck eating postage prepaid envelope and on the way in the class went from there to the local post office. Maybe I should tell you that somewhere along the line I had learned that the post costs the recipient more than the usual shipping charges. And as you might think the postage for this price would far exceed the cost of first class postage.
This went on for close to six months if something unusual to happen. The mass e-mails began to fall. Therefore the size of the price also declined proportionably Finally I had to compete by depriving myself of the necessary break with the law books. In addition to the desired effect had been. Now that was 40 years ago
Recently, quite by chance I found a website where you can the same thing, namely to remove your name from the mailing lists of the largest mass mailing houses. He is also free.

Now, as I said in an earlier letter, you are entitled to YOUR OPINION BUT NOT facts, each story should be a moral or purpose. What is the moral here ...? While you may think about the story is a story of the tongue in cheek. It actually happened during my first year at the Catholic University Columbus School of Law, where I dreaded meeting by Ed Garvin of the class on contract law. But on the notice that the same brash and ingenuity I have 40 years ago that I have the same brash and ingenuity to ensure the penetration of systems, for us and after the cracking of codes, and to our advantage.
