Were the manufacturers of MRI imaging, a toxic injection know how disability Gadolinium is for people with kidney problems?
Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis and nephrogenic Fibrosing Dermopathy (NSF / NFD) is a rare disease. NSF did not exist until 1997, when gadolinium was first used to create a brighter picture for MRI and MRA (magnetic resonance imaging angiography) scans. Gadolinium is FDA approved, but not MRI MRA.
The only way you can nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, if you had kidney problems or kidney disease at the time you were injected with gadolinium. People who are not prone to kidney problems or kidney disease does not acquire nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
For a person with normally functioning kidneys, gadolinium is removed from the body in less than two hours. However, in people with kidney problems, it may take up to 36 hours to remove toxic gadolinium.
NSF symptoms are: swelling and tightening of the skin, skin, inhibits flexibility, burning and skin itching, skin changes, muscle weakness, deep bone pain, and hypertension.
Symptoms can vary from one week to 18 months later. There is no successful treatment to improve the quality of life and the NSF / NSD can cause death through kidney failure complications. However, through the improvement of renal function, NSF is slowed or arrested and in many cases allows for the gradual lifting of the process over time.
In June 2006, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has an advisory on Gadolinium Injections for MRI and how people with kidney problems and kidney disease are influenced by the Disability nephrogenic systemic fibrosis and nephrogenic Fibrosing Dermopathy.
In May 2007, the FDA, a black box warning. What happened from June 2006 to May 2007? How many patients were negatively affected? MRI imaging has been to examine kidney patients or the backup dialysis after gadolinium injections? NSF is a small percentage of people, but this percentage is growing especially as the symptoms are not immediate.
Gadolinium is a poison. It is also in X-ray imaging, microwave applications, compact discs, and nuclear reactors. Manufacturers of gadolinium injected include General Electric, GE Healthcare, Bayer, Bayer Healthcare, Tyco Healthcare, and Bracco Diagnostics.
How can it be that the manufacturers of MRI imaging ingredients do not know how destructive gadolinium might have impaired kidney?
