The development of technology and everyday use of computers at work has an impact on employees, such as training. Many e-learning providers are geared to the needs in the workplace or legal mandates to provide specific training for employees. In 2006, in California, AB 1825 in force, a firm that sexual harassment prevention training for supervisors must be at least once every two years. Many law firms and e-training providers have on the moving train wagon to develop "interactive" e-learning programs that can satisfy a portion of the new training institutes. Employees can Self-Paced, technology and training course to learn, ask "online editors' questions, and an examination at the end of the section to show what they learned. Programs like this can also track participants generate and print reports, a company compliance with the mandated training.
The Department of Homeland Security is using new simulation and modeling software to "Homeland Security" training in a cost effective manner. Teachers to use Reality Simulations to learn important information. New employees learn their successes and failures before they made it first-hand experience in live combat. Wired Magazine's article, "" The War Room "is described as F / X artists, scientists, experts, Pentagon, and game developers to the Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT), a research and development group at the University of Southern California. ICT training uses a virtual old forum to teach soldiers how to best navigate difficult situations, the combat levels of choices for the reaction: Storytelling.
The New Paradigm Training
Professors from Indiana University and Warwick (Kim et al.) Title "," Surveying the Future of Work: E-Learning: The Rise of Blending, Interactivity, and Authentic Learning. " Company answered 49 questions related to e-learning. Their responses were overwhelmingly optimistic, with support and e-learning or blended learning. Blended learning is a combination of traditional, face-to-face and online lectures and courses. Today's conventional wisdom about the training at the workplace, says that "blended learning" presents alternative ways for companies to train employees. It reinforces key messages reached and people with different learning styles through a variety of learning opportunities.
The companies were asked what technology-based applications and teaching methods used in the future. You stated, "... authentic cases and scenario learning, simulations or games, virtual team collaboration and problem solving, and problem-based learning is widespread in the next ten years. "(Kim et al.) Distributed learning environments can be done by virtual communities, blogging, instant messaging and computer-supported group collaboration and problem solving (Bonk & Graham). Predictions of the "environments, while the two distributed environments and face-to-face interactions are on the horizon to require that e-training facilitators assume broader and more varied tasks. "
E-learning facilitators "wear four pairs of shoes," "for e-learning expert Ed Hootstein and Zane Berge. You assume the roles of teacher, social director, program manager and technical assistant. E-learning can be moderators situational examples of authentic learning and, in addition to the traditional classroom through a variety of e-technology applications. This includes e-mail, groupware, audio and video conferencing. "The wide range of electronic toll collection for analysis, design, planning, problem solving and presentations allow students to challenging and complex tasks and solve problems in creative ways. "" (Hootstein)
The ultimate goal in the development of technology and training is under the mountains ", the technology transparent. "" Given the progress over time, the availability and viability of the technology in today's workplace, the e-learning facilitator can draw on the content and delivery of materials to teach important lessons.
Authentic, or experiential learning is also in vogue. We draw on our knowledge and experiences to learn and understand, and personal behavior can be changed as a result. The learning is based on "consciousness, experience and reflection. "" (Grimmett) There is a connection, the example at home on hand to handle the response from the participants in a meaningful way to a person, the perception and belief system.
The next steps and summary
Major companies like Sun Microsystems, Cisco, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft already mixed, authentic learning in their education systems (Bonk & Graham). The emergence of "blended learning" is the next generation of training and application delivery systems. It teaches employees key findings in a variety of ways. It provides a greater opportunity for learning through technology, face situations and authentic learning experiences.
E-learning must be evaluated to determine "... online learner performance and satisfaction, followed by clear rewards and incentives for e-learning qualification, training, and helps the learners themselves, their learning. "(Kim et al.). These considerations reflect the next steps for companies to develop the staff to participate in blended learning programs. Even so, blended learning with authentic situations, now is an opportunity for companies to develop its own training and development function and take advantage of the multitude of resources, through this new and evolving paradigm training.
